Suspension Bridge Lighted By Fireworks

Posted by
MK (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) on 22 February 2010 in Documentary & Street.

Norman, the fren who actually got me to buy the DSLR invited me for a nite shoot with a firework display at the end of it. The results was mostly disappointing becoz i don't really know what to shoot at. Nite street photography is a lot different than landscape.

I have always shied away from firework shows, let alone take photos of them so I thot the fireworks would be higher up above the bridge. There was no time to move once it started so i got it all mixed up in there.

p/s: The camera captured the smoke, which the eye doesnt. A case of being too good?

Rags from Plano, United States

I like the image. The trick is to take as many images as you can every day. Before you know it you will be making stunning images.

Really impressive architecture and colors are just fantastic. A very futurist image somehow ! Like an alien spacecraft.

@Florence: The bridge is a fantastic piece of engineering (not architecture mind u, I am an engineer and we r sensitive when credits r given to architects, LOL)

Sarito from Basingstoke, United Kingdom

It is not very difficult.. it is only a matter of time before you become an expert :). Here are some links.

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

4 or 5 seconds is usually about right for me and you did the right thing by keeping to a low iso speed, this is pretty good, I'd be more than happy with it.

22 Feb 2010 6:38pm

@Curly: I'm more than happy now that so many ppl like it. The setting was suggested by Norman who did this before. Thanks to him, n thanks to u for ur comment.
